Terms of use

Last updated: 20 October 2026 · Apply to the Laptic private beta, on the web and in the mobile app.

Who we are

Laptic is published by LAPTIC, a French société par actions simplifiée with a share capital of €1,200, being registered with the Paris trade and companies register, with its registered office at 1 rue Marguerin, 75014 Paris, France, represented by its president, Hugo Courthias. To write to us: [email protected].

These terms are the contract between you and LAPTIC for using Laptic: the web app, the mobile app and the services that come with them. What we do with your data is described in the privacy policy, which is part of this contract. By creating your account, you accept these terms.

The service

Laptic is a cycling coaching service. You connect your training data, and Laptic:

  • works out your training week every week, with an engine whose rules our certified coach writes;
  • reviews your rides;
  • lets an AI coach answer you, if you turn it on;
  • sends your sessions to your watch, bike computer or indoor training app when you ask.

Laptic is a training tool. It is not a medical device, and it replaces neither a doctor nor a coach who follows you in person.

The private beta

Laptic is in private beta: you join by invitation. The service changes often. A feature may be incomplete, stop or disappear, and mistakes are still possible. Before a change that affects your subscription, we tell you in the app. To tell us what is wrong, use « Report a problem » in the app's help.

Your account

You must be 18, or 15 with the consent of a person with parental authority. An account belongs to one person. You sign in with a code sent by e-mail, or with Apple or Google: keep access to that address and those accounts to yourself. The information you give (profile, weight, critical power, availability, how you feel) must be accurate, because Laptic uses it to write your week. If you think someone else has access to your account, write to us.

Subscription and free trial

Laptic is paid, with two plans: monthly, with no commitment, and yearly, charged once a year. On the web they cost €18 a month or €180 a year, taxes included. In the app, the price is the one the App Store or Google Play shows. The current price is always shown before you pay. LAPTIC may also offer you access for a set period, for example through a partnership: it ends on its date, with no charge.

Your first subscription starts with a free trial, 7 days today; its length is shown before you start it. There is one trial per account. On the web, you save a card when the trial starts, and nothing is charged before it ends. An e-mail reminds you when the trial is about to end. If you have not cancelled by then, the subscription starts that day, with its first charge.

On the web, payment goes through Stripe. In the app, it goes through Apple's App Store or Google Play, under their own terms. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the current price, until you cancel it. We tell you at least 30 days before a price change; it applies from the next period, and you can cancel before.

You can cancel at any time. On the web, it is in your account, under Subscription, which opens Stripe's portal. A subscription taken in the app is cancelled in your Apple or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period: you keep access until then, and the period already started is not refunded, unless the law requires it.

You have 14 days after subscribing to withdraw, without giving a reason (article L221-18 of the French consumer code). By using Laptic during that time, you ask for the service to start straight away; if you withdraw, you pay only for the part of the service already provided (article L221-25). For a subscription taken on the web, write to [email protected]. For a purchase on the App Store or Google Play, ask Apple or Google for the refund, under their rules.

The AI coach

Some of Laptic's texts are written by a language model, an artificial intelligence: the coach's word on your sessions, the review of your rides and the coach's answers. These texts are generated automatically. They can be wrong, incomplete or ill-suited to your situation, and they are not medical advice. Do not use them to decide on a treatment, a return after an injury or an effort despite pain: ask a doctor. The coach may propose a change to your week, and nothing changes until you accept it.

The AI coach reads your data only with your consent. You give it by connecting a service or by turning the AI coach on, and you withdraw it at any time in Account › AI coach. Without it, your week is still worked out, and the features written by AI are turned off. What is sent to the model, to whom and for how long is in the AI transparency statement.

Health and safety

Cycling carries risks. Before you start or return to training, and if you have a health condition, ask a doctor. Stop if you feel pain, feel unwell or are in doubt. A session is a proposal: adapt it to how you feel, the weather and the road. The rules of the road come before it. Laptic does not follow your rides live and must not be used where a life depends on it.

Connected services and Garmin data

Laptic receives the data of the services you connect (Garmin Connect™, COROS, Polar, Wahoo, Suunto, Hammerhead) through Stridee, our processor, and sends them the sessions you choose. Each service stays under the terms you accepted with it. You can disconnect a service at any time, in Account › Integrations.

By connecting Garmin Connect™, or sending a session to it, you agree to:

  • comply with the terms between you and Garmin, and with the terms that come with the data you upload there, including any restrictions they place on you;
  • not upload data to your Garmin Connect™ account if you are restricted from doing so;
  • not modify the terms that come with that data if you are restricted from doing so.

What Garmin receives, it processes under its own Privacy Policy for Garmin Connect, and it may keep and use it even after you have removed it from Laptic.

Garmin is not a party to this contract and is not responsible for Laptic. To the fullest extent permitted by law: Garmin's data and services reach you through Laptic as they are, with no warranty from Garmin, of accuracy or of availability; Garmin and its officers, employees, agents and licensors are not liable to you for any damage, direct or indirect, arising from your use of Laptic or of Garmin data; and you waive any claim against them on that account. Garmin may rely on this paragraph, which is made for its benefit. It takes nothing away from the rights the law gives you and that cannot be waived. Garmin and Garmin Connect are trademarks of Garmin Ltd. or its subsidiaries.

What you agree not to do

  • use Laptic for anything other than your own training, or for an illegal activity;
  • upload data that is not yours, or that you have no right to share;
  • access someone else's account, or get around the service's limits or security;
  • copy, scrape, resell or redistribute the service, its texts or its data, or have a robot read them;
  • decompile or disassemble the app, outside the cases the law allows;
  • write unlawful, hateful or harassing content to the coach, or try to make it write some;
  • disrupt the service or overload its servers.

If you see Laptic used in a way that breaks the law or these terms, report it to [email protected] or through « Report a problem » in the app's help. We look into every report.

Intellectual property

Laptic, its apps, its engine, its texts, its sessions and its brand belong to LAPTIC. We give you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use Laptic for your training, for as long as your account exists and you comply with these terms. Your data stays yours: you allow us to use it to run the service for you, as the privacy policy describes. You may keep and share the texts Laptic writes for you. The brands of the connected services belong to their owners.

Liability

We do our best for Laptic to work and to be right. We do not guarantee that it is always available or error-free, or that it gets you to a goal. A calculation rests on the data received: a sensor that measures wrong gives a wrong result.

Within the limits the law allows, LAPTIC is not liable for indirect damage (loss of opportunity, of data or of sporting results), nor for damage caused by a third-party service (Garmin, Stridee, Apple, Google, Stripe, a device) or by a use that breaks these terms. Its total liability to you is limited to the sums you paid it over the last twelve months. These limits do not apply to bodily injury caused by our fault, to gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or to the guarantees the French consumer code gives you, including the legal guarantee of conformity of digital content and services.

Suspension, termination and account deletion

You can delete your account at any time, on the web or in the app. Deletion is immediate and final: it erases your data as the privacy policy describes, and cancels a Stripe subscription the same day. It does not stop an App Store or Google Play subscription, which you cancel with Apple or Google.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks the law or these terms, puts the service or other people at risk, or commits payment fraud. Except in an emergency, we write to you first, saying why, and you can answer. If we close your account through no fault of yours, the paid period left is refunded. If Laptic shuts down, we tell you at least 30 days before, so that you can export your data, and the paid period left is refunded.

Changes

These terms will evolve with the service, in particular at the end of the beta. For a significant change, we tell you in the app or by e-mail at least 30 days before it applies; if you refuse it, you can cancel and delete your account before then. The date at the top of this page shows the version in force.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If we disagree, write to us first at [email protected]: we look for a solution with you. You may also turn to a consumer mediator free of charge. Failing an agreement, the French courts have jurisdiction, and you can always bring the matter before the court where you live.
