Why we built Laptic

A real coach for every rider who trains: where Laptic comes from, what a week with it looks like, and how to join the beta.

In short

Laptic writes your cycling training week every Sunday evening, on your free days, and rewrites it when your life changes. The three of us built it to make coaching available to as many riders as possible. It is in private beta, opening in waves.

A good coach changes a season. They know when to push, when to back off, and they rewrite the plan when your week goes sideways. Most riders who train don't have one: it costs a lot, it is rare, and it often goes to people who already race.

That's why we built Laptic. To make coaching and progress available to as many riders as possible, whatever their level.

Where does the idea come from?

Laptic was born in France, from three co-founders: Hugo, Romane and Maxandre. We ride, we train, and we have all lived the same scene: a twelve-week plan downloaded in January, dropped in February, because a meeting took Thursday and the plan didn't know.

Training apps have plenty of numbers. Very few tell you what to do on Tuesday evening, with the hour you actually have.

What does a week with Laptic look like?

You give your free days, the time you have for each and your goal. On Sunday evening, your week arrives. For four hours, for example:

  • Tuesday, 1 h: 3 × 8 min just under your threshold.

  • Thursday, 45 min: easy endurance.

  • Saturday, 1 h 15: 2 × 10 min at tempo.

  • Sunday, 1 h: easy endurance.

On Thursday your meeting runs late and you skip your ride? The coach read it, and the rest of the week is rewritten from what you actually rode. After every ride, Laptic reads it back and tells you what it changes next.

How is it different from a plan an AI writes?

The AI doesn't make up your sessions. Every hard piece of work comes from a library our coach wrote and approved. The AI applies his method to your week, explains its choices and answers your questions. The rules don't move: two hard sessions a week at most, never two hard days in a row, and most of the volume at endurance.

Your rides come in from Garmin, Wahoo, Coros, Polar, Suunto or Hammerhead, and your sessions go out to your Garmin, Wahoo, Coros or Suunto computer.

Where is Laptic now?

Laptic is in private beta. We open spots in waves, to follow every rider closely and fix things fast. You can ask for your spot now.

Meanwhile, join the community on WhatsApp: riders who train, and the three of us with them. Tell us what you miss. That's how we build what comes next.

Common questions

Is Laptic free during the beta?

The beta is by invitation, in waves. We write to you when your spot is ready, with the terms of your access.

Do I need a power meter?

Yes, during the beta. We're focusing first on riders with a power meter.

Who writes the sessions?

Our coach. Every hard session comes from his library; the AI picks the one that fits you and builds the week around it.

Your season starts here.

Laptic plans your week once your last session is done and adjusts it after every ride.

We'll keep you posted by email.
